CIC Changxing Shipyard Closes 2011 with 317 Vessel Repairs

With the joint efforts of all the staff, CIC Changxing Shipyard broke the annual record of ship repair amount for last year. By December 31st, there were 317 vessels repaired by the yard in 2011, among which 214 vessels were drydocked.

Last year, the yard carried out the management requirement of “start by planning, focus on cost control, improve the service quality”, intensified the work of “ship repairing breakthrough”, abided by the policy of “ensure the ship delivery, guarantee the safety, keep the quality, set the reputation”, strengthened the organization management & ship repairing coordination. Under the substantial support of China Shipping Industry Shanghai Pudong Co. Ltd., the yard improved the communication with the owners, took a series of “short, smooth, quick” production measures and promoted the goal of “ 100hr dock repairing”. The managing personnel went to the spot and solved the various problems on time.

Meanwhile, the shipyard focused on improving the technology and implementing the quality control. CIC Changxing Shipyard made great progress in the urgent repair process and created the solution of 3D block prefabrication for the repair of m/v CMA CGM Corte Real and m/v Corona Bulker. The shipyard’s engineering department provided a substantial support for the annual repair of 317 ships by strengthening the management and check of the workshop, improving the production condition of subcontractors.
