Nantong Mingde Launches Wood Chip Carrier

The world’s largest Wood Chip Carrier built by Mingde Heavy Industry was successfully launched in the afternoon of 22nd April 2013.

Nantong Mingde laid the keel of the 4,700,000 C.F. Wood Chip Carrier (MD146) in August 2012. Compared with other similar bulk ships, this Wood Chip Carrier possesses the characteristics of large capacity, high efficiency, environmental friendliness and energy saving, thus can reduce the transportation costs effectively.

The vessel features 51800 tons of Gross tonnage and a DWT of 69300 tons. The manager and owner of the carrier is Singapore-based Nova Shipping & Logistics.

The American Bureau of Shipping is in charge of classing the ship.
