China: Vroon Takes Delivery of MV Peruvian Express

On Wednesday 4 July 2012 Vroon took delivery of MV Peruvian Express, a 79.000-dwt Kamsarmax bulk carrier, built at Cosco Dalian Shipyard, China.

Peruvian Express left the Shipyard on 8 July 2012. She flies the Marshall Islands flag and has a Chinese crew. Ship management has been entrusted to Fleet Management Ltd. in Hong Kong.

A Kamsarmax type bulk carrier is basically a 82,000 dwt Panamax with an increased LOA = 229 m (for Port Kamsar in Equatorial Guinea, the world’s largest bauxite port).

COSCO (DaLian) Shipyard is the largest shipyard in COSCO Shipyard Group so far. By the existing facilities, COSCO (DaLian) Shipyard can undertake more than 200 large-size ocean vessels’ repair and conversion annually and become the main base for ship repair, conversion and off shore marine engineering manufacture in North-East Asia.
