Circle Oil starts 2D seismic survey on Block 52, Oman

Circle Oil Plc has announced that the 2D seismic survey over its Block 25, offshore Oman, is scheduled to begin tomorrow, March 21.

The MV Hindsagar 3D/2D seismic acquisition vessel will be used for the operation. The vessel is owned by Hind Offshore Pvt Ltd. from India.

The programme is to acquire 850 kilometres of 2D seismic data to map and prioritise the three inshore leads identified through acquisition, processing and  interpretation of existing 2D seismic data from 2011.

Block 52, covering an area of over 63,460 square kilometres, lies about 500 kilometres SSW of Muscat in an underexplored area of offshore Southern Oman. Circle Oil Oman Offshore Ltd is the operator of Block 52 with a 100% working interest.
