The company said that the units were acquired “in close collaboration with a financial partner.”

The transaction would see the 2010-built ships, featuring over 32,500 dwt, join Clipper Bulk in the upcoming months. They will be renamed to Clipper Appollonia, Clipper Aegina and Clipper Alexandria.

Media reports suggest that the units were purchased from Danish shipping company J. Lauritzen at an undisclosed price. The vessels are reportedly the Orchard Bulker, Sentosa Bulker and and Emilie Bulker, each valued at over USD 8 million, data provided by VesselsValue shows.

Following the additions, Clipper Bulk will operate 85 Handysize and Supramax vessels, including tonnage operated by the 2 Clipper Bulk-managed pools, namely, the Clipper Handy Pool and the Clipper Ultra Pool.
