CNCo's Second Handysize Hits the Water at Chengxi

Chengxi Shipyard held, on August 5, launching ceremony for China Navigation Company’s (CNCo) second 39,500 DWT bulk carrier ‘Wuchow’.

The vessel of Deltamarin’s 39,500dwt Bdelta handysize design is scheduled for delivery in early 2014. Deltamarin has focused on fuel efficiency in the designs. The service speed at design draught shall be 14.0 knots and the model tested daily fuel oil consumption at design draft shall be 18t including 15 % seamargin, ISO conditions. The EEDI shall be 15.4 % less than the requirements to come into force.

The vessel feature five double skin cargo holds and is designed to carry bulk cargoes, grain, coal, concentrates, logs, heavy general cargo, steel coils, steel slabs and a wide variety of heavy project cargoes. The tanktops are specifically strengthened for heavy cargoes and all holds have double skin hydraulic folding hatch covers and forced draft fans for cargo care.

Four electric deck cranes are mounted on the centerline, each rated at 30 tons at maximum outreach of 26m. All cranes can be combined for a maximum lift of 60 tons.
