Containerships Drops Calls at Pori and Sheerness

Finnish short-sea operator Containerships is introducing three new direct services as of April 2015, as well as cancelling calls at the Finnish Port of Pori and England’s Port of Sheerness.

The last call at Pori was on March 13, and cargo previously moved via Port of Pori will be re-routed via Helsinki. The last call in Sheerness will be performed during April.

The southern part of the UK will be served via the Port of Tilbury, with further transhipment in Rotterdam.

The three new direct services will connect Germany’s Lübeck, with Riga, Latvia; England’s Teesport with the Danish Port of Aarhus;  and Riga with Aarhus.

Containerships is also improving frequency from Helsinki to the UK, Benelux and Germany; increasing the capacity from Riga to the UK and Benelux; and adding a second weekly call from Lübeck to St. Petersburg and Helsinki.

“We continue to invest in our network and are proud to introduce a second call from Lübeck, with the launch of our new schedule from the beginning of April, “ Containerships CCO R. Winter said.
