COSL Rigmar Receives New Acknowledgement of Compliance (Norway)

Business & Finance

COSL Drilling Europe AS (COSL) received a new Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for the COSL Rigmar mobile living quarters facility (formerly Port Rigmar) on 31 March 2011.

Port Rigmar received an AoC for the first time in June 2008.

COSLRigmar (pictured) is a mobile living quarters facility (jack-up facility) of the ETA Robroy 300 design. It was completed at the Robin Shipyard in Singapore in 1979, originally equipped as a drilling facility. In 1991, it was rebuilt to a living quarters facility.

The facility is registered in the Bahamas, with Det Norske Veritas as the classification society.

COSLRigmar has a cabin capacity of 326 people.

COSLRigmar and relevant parts of COSL’s organisation and management system are considered to be in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements for the petroleum activities.

The decision is based on the information provided in the AoC application relating to the facility’s technical condition and the applicant’s organisation and management system, as well as verifications by the authorities and other case processing.

The validity of this Acknowledgement of Compliance assumes that COSL ensures that the facility and relevant parts of the company’s organisation are maintained, so conditions and assumptions in the PSA’s decision are safeguarded.
