CPower Energy to Provide Staff for East Anglia One

ScottishPower Renewables has awarded UK-based CPower Energy with a preferred supplier contract for the provision of commissioning personnel for the 714MW East Anglia One offshore wind farm.

According to CPower Energy, the personnel is expected to start working at the offshore wind farm in the next few weeks.

Besides providing commissioning managers and engineers, the company is approved to supply engineers for the offshore and onshore substations, wind turbine generators, logistics and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) for the project.

CPower Energy said that the agreement follows a comprehensive tender process in which only a handful of companies won a contract to supply commissioning engineers during the construction phase of the project.

In March, ERSG and Taylor Hopkins also won contracts for the provision of personnel for the wind farm.

The East Anglia One offshore wind farm will consist of 102 Siemens 7MW turbines.

Boskalis’ DP2 crane vessel Bokalift 1 recently began the installation of foundation pin piles at the site some 43km off the Suffolk Coast in the UK.

Once fully commissioned in 2020, the project will be one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world.
