Cranemaster Presents New Passive Heave Compensator

Cranemaster has introduced a new passive heave compensator (PHC).

Safe working load (SWL) for the new unit is 1000 tonnes and maximum stroke length is 4000 millimeters. The unit itself weights more than 60 tonnes.

“As offshore installations have become more complex and structures heavier, we have responded to the demand for higher capacity by developing the world’s largest PHC,” said Oddbjørn Bergem, CEO Cranemaster.

During its first task, Cranemaster supported the installation of monopiles at the Rampion Offshore Wind Project off the south coast of England.

The new unit comes with an advanced control system that adapts to the various lifting phases during operations.
