Croatian LNG terminal of high importance for EU, says Sefcovic

European Commission Vice President, Maros Sefcovic said the Croatian LNG terminal is one of the future projects of large importance for the European Union.

The question, whether the LNG terminal on the island of Krk can be viewed as an energy hub for supplying Central Europe and the wider area with LNG, was asked by the Croatian member of the European Parliament Tonino Picula.

According to local media reports, Sefcovic highlighted the necessity to solve outstanding issues pertaining to infrastructure and finances.

Adding to the supports shown from the United States, Sefcovic’s remarks put Croatia in a good position to become a regional energy hub.
