Crowley cleared to import LNG from Canada

The United States Department of Energy issued an order authorizing Crowley’s Alaskan unit, Crowley Petroleum Distribution, to import LNG from Canada.

The authorization is for a two-year term to import liquefied natural gas from Canada by truck, in approved ISO containers or liner cargo vessels, and on bulk ocean-going vessels without ISO containers up to a combined total volume equivalent to 2.12 billion cubic feet of natural gas, DOE said in its filing.

Crowley is also expected to file a report with DOE each month showing its LNG import activity in detail.
