Cuadrilla names new chairman

Roy Franklin has been appointed as the new Chairman of Cuadrilla Resources. 

Franklin joined the board of Cuadrilla Resources in 2012 and will take up his new post with immediate effect, the company said in a statement.

A geologist by training, he has extensive petroleum industry experience, including several positions with British oil and gas companies. He joined the advisory board of Kerogen Capital, which is a major investor in AJ Lucas, a Cuadrilla shareholder, in 2011.

His career span includes 18 years at BP, four years as Group Managing Director of Clyde Petroleum and eight years as Chief Executive Officer of Paladin Resources. He has been a Director of Santos since 2006 and has also served on the Board of Statoil. Franklin has been Chairman of Keller Group since 2007. Franklin served as the Chairman of BRINDEX, the trade association for UK independent oil and gas companies from 2002 to 2005. He has also served as member of PILOT, the joint oil industry/Government task force.
