Dahej terminal to get Qatari LNG cargo

The Dahej import terminal, operated by India’s largest liquefied natural gas importer Petronet LNG, will receive a cargo of LNG onboard the 148,786 cbm Al Areesh from Qatar on September 16, shipping data shows.

Toyo Engineering of Japan has earlier this year secured a contract from Petronet to boost the LNG receiving capacity of the Dahej terminal from 10 million tons to 15 million tons per annum.

To meet the growing demand of natural gas for electricity and fertilizer, more than 10 additional LNG import terminals are now planned to be built in India.
