Danish Maritime Authority Delegation Visits Marintec China 2013

On 3 December, a delegation from the Danish Maritime Authority headed by Director-General Andreas Nordseth took part in the opening of the Danish stand at Marintec China 2013 in Shanghai with, among others, the Danish Consul-General in Shanghai.

Marintec China is Asia’s largest marine equipment fair and is crucial for getting access to the Chinese market. Therefore, more than 40 Danish companies were represented on the Danish stand, organized by the Danish Marine Group.

Seeing so many Danish companies – marine equipment manufacturers, technological developers and ship designers – at Marintec is evidence that they are already strongly involved in China and offer quality solutions that are in demand by the Chinese maritime industry. We would like to show our support for this on behalf of the official Denmark, which is the background for my participation here”, said Andreas Nordseth.

In connection with the Marintec fair, a high-level conference was held – the Senior Maritime Forum – at which the Director-General of the Danish Maritime Authority gave a speech. In his speech, Andreas Nordseth focused on green conversion in the shipping industry and stressed the importance of utilizing the potential for growth created by green conversion. He underlined the need for innovative, international partnerships between shipbuilders, shipowners and manufacturers of marine equipment in order to ensure the development of the most efficient and commercially attractive solutions and emphasized the readiness of Danish companies and authorities to engage in cooperation with the Chinese authorities and companies on this.
