Denmark: Dong to Solely Maintain Anholt OWF after Five Years

Denmark Dong to Solely Maintain Anholt OWF After Five Years

Since spring 2012, DONG Energy has systematically established the operations organisation, which has gradually taken over operation and maintenance of the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm.

In the first five-year warranty period, DONG Energy will operate and be responsible for maintenance of the wind farm in cooperation with turbine supplier, Siemens Wind Power, but after the expiry of the warranty period, DONG Energy assumes full responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the wind farm and when it is fully completed, the organisation will have approximately 50 turbine technicians.

Anholt Offshore Wind Farm will be operated locally from the new offices, storage and workshop facilities in Grenaa. Two converted cold stores, which house offices, workshops, storage facilities and changing rooms for the service personnel, form the basis for the future operation and maintenance of the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm, and with a location right on the quay, they have direct access to the service vessels.

The work is planned in such a way that the summer season is used to carry out scheduled servicing, and the technicians will work intensively in shifts for 12 hours per day for seven days and then be off duty for seven days.

Generally, the technicians will leave the port at 07:00 in the morning and return at 19:00 in the evening. During the winter season, normally only repairs and start-ups of damaged wind turbines will take place.
