Namely, the companies signed a charter extension for Diana Shipping’s 73,630 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel Protefs.

Under the deal, the unit would continue working for Hudson Shipping for a period of about twelve to fifteen months, starting from September 19, 2018.

The agreed gross charter rate for the period is USD 11,000 per day. The 2004-built Protefs is currently chartered at a rate of USD 7,900 per day.

The second deal with Hudson Shipping was signed for a time charter contract for the Panamax dry bulk vessel Nirefs.

Featuring 75,311 dwt, the vessel was hired at a gross charter rate of USD 10,750 per day for a period of eleven to fourteen months.

The charter commenced on August 11, 2018. Nirefs was previously chartered to Singapore’s Jaldhi Overseas at USD 9,400 per day.

Diana Shipping said that the new deals are expected to generate some USD 7.34 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled periods of the time charters.
