Diana Shipping Continues Charter Spree

Greek dry bulk shipping company Diana Shipping Inc. has entered into a time charter contract for one of its Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels, the MV Philadelphia, with Germany-based RWE Supply & Trading GmbH.

The vessel will be chartered out under a gross charter rate of USD 6,450 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.

According to Diana, the 206,040 dwt MV Philadelphia will be employed for a period of minimum eleven to maximum fourteen months.

The 2012-built vessel is anticipated to generate approximately USD 2.13 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

The news comes on the back of Diana’s latest charter contracts signed last week for the 180,235 dwt Capesize dry bulk vessel MV Aliki and the 75,311 dwt Panamax dry bulker MV Nirefs.

Both vessels were chartered out for a period of minimum eleven to maximum fourteen months, on a gross charter rate of USD 5,300 per day and USD 4,600 per day, respectively, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.
