Diana Shipping Extends Charter for Selina

Greek shipping firm Diana Shipping has decided to extend the present time charter contract with Hong Kong’s BG Shipping for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, M/V Selina.

As informed, the new gross charter rate is USD 12,250 per day for a period of minimum sixteen to maximum nineteen months. The new charter period was expected to commence on February 6.

The 75,700 dwt Selina is currently chartered at a gross charter rate of USD 7,100 per day.

According to the company, the employment extension of the Panamax ship is anticipated to generate USD 5.88 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter extension.

Built at China’s Jiangnan Shanghai Changxing Heavy Industry in 2010, Selina, previously named Sunshine, has a market value of USD 14.92 million, VesselsValue’s data shows.

Diana Shipping’s fleet currently comprises 50 dry bulk vessels having a combined carrying capacity of 5.8 million dwt and a weighted average age of 8.46 years.
