Diana Shipping Pens Charter Deals for Two Ships

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has secured more work for two of its bulkers, the 2012-built Los Angeles and the 2010-built Selina.

The company’s 206,104 dwt Los Angeles will continue working for Geneva-based SwissMarine Services S.A. for a period of thirteen to fifteen months, no later than April 22, 2018.

Diana Shipping said that the daily gross charter rate for the Newcastlemax is 14% above the BCI_2014 average of the five pre-determined time charter routes as published by the Baltic Exchange.

SwissMarine initially chartered the bulker in December 2015. The new charter deal commenced on January 22, 2017.

Diana Shipping signed the second charter deal with Hong Kong-based BG Shipping Co. Under the agreement, the company’s Panamax vessel Selina was hired for a period of nine to twelve months.

The gross charter rate is USD 4,500 per day for the first thirty days and USD 7,100 per day for the balance period of the time charter.

Featuring 75,700 dwt, the bulker is expected to commence its employment on January 24, 2017.

The dry bulk duo is a part of Diana Shipping’s fleet of 48 ships, which includes Newcastlemax, Capesize, Post-Panamax, Kamsarmax and Panamax vessels.
