Director Says, 2012 Dron & Dickson’s Most Successful Year to Date (UK)

Dron & Dickson, specialist in design, supply and maintenance of hazardous area electrical equipment, has reported growth in 2011/12 of more than 33% on last year, with turnover increasing to £37.6 million from £27.6 million.

The growth comes on the back of a number of significant contract wins for the Engineering Division of the company, and is in line with company forecasts for steady expansion in the coming years. Among the firm’s accomplishments was the opening of a Dubai base and the acquisition of Abu Dhabi-based Totus Energy.

Commenting on the results, group director Colin Maver said: “This has been Dron & Dickson’s most successful year to date, and our impressive numbers reflect our dedication to the standard of work we provide our clients and the professionalism of our staff. We outlined a plan of ambitious growth for the year, and have stuck to it with key service contract wins and revenue from our wholesale division.

“Over the past five years we have invested heavily in competency, building on our in-house capabilities and international expansion, and we are delighted that the company continues to grow from strength to strength.

“We are especially pleased with the opening of our Dubai operation and the acquisition of Totus Energy, which furthers our international expansion, and propels us into the Middle East sector. Added to our portfolio of clients in Europe, Africa, South America and Asia, we look forward to continuous growth in 2013.”

Over the last 12 months, workforce numbers both on and offshore have risen significantly from 160 to 220, and Dron & Dickson is looking to increase this number by 15% in the next year. The company looks forward to further new business and will continue its recruitment drive to meet the demands for its services.

As well as targeting the oil and gas sector, Dron & Dickson operates in the renewables and decommissioning markets. It also works in additional sectors of industry ranging from pharmaceuticals to distilleries.

Services provided include design, specify, supply, install, test, commission, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment in hazardous areas both on and offshore; steel framing and cable management system upgrades, compilation and implementation of hazardous area strategies, and general electrical support to operators and contractors.

The company offers a range of life-cycle solutions and holds numerous supply agreements providing competitive contract prices, matched inventory, spend analysis, KPI reporting and technical support. Through an extensive supply chain, Dron & Dickson can source a diverse range of products.
