DNV GL in service agreement with Statoil

The oil and gas division of DNV GL, a certification body and classification society, has been awarded a master service agreement with the Norwegian oil major Statoil.

DNV GL said on Thursday that the contract includes a broad scope of studies on topics such as safety, platform technology, structural reanalysis and pipeline technology.

In addition, it offers hull and structural inspection services, the competent control of complex lifting equipment and software, maintenance and services for IT delivery.

“The signing of the MSA marks an ongoing commitment to DNV GL’s strategic customer relations with Statoil. We have supported Statoil through many challenges during the years of collaboration,” says DNV GL’s Regional Manager for Oil & Gas in Norway, Kjell Eriksson.

Eriksson also added: “Our key value contribution is striving to give advice, standards and processes that help our customers reduce their capex and opex spending while at the same time maintaining safety, integrity and reliability.”
