DOF wins offshore wind export cable repair job

Norway-headquartered DOF Group has been awarded a contract to repair an export cable for an offshore wind farm in the Southern North Sea.

The project, awarded by an international energy operator, includes the retrieval of the damaged cable and termination, installation, trenching, and commissioning of the replacement cable.

DOF’s contract scope includes project management, engineering, procurement, and logistics of cable and all associated equipment as well as the complete offshore works.

Preparations for the project have already commenced in Aberdeen and Bergen and the offshore execution is planned to start in March, the company said.

According to DOF, the company will carry out the repair work using the Skandi Hera installation vessel. The value of the project is approximately $13 million, DOF said.

In terms of other recent news coming from DOF, the company was earlier this month awarded a contract and a contract extension in Asia Pacific, securing further backlog in the region.
