Dragados and Swiber Win Pemex’s Pipeline Contract Offshore Mexico

PEMEX Exploration and Production (PEP) has awarded to the joint venture between DRAGADOS OFFSHORE and SWIBER the EPC project for an offshore pipeline project.

PEP has declared the joint venture between Dragados Offshore and Swiber, the successful tenderer of the 36” Ø x77 Km pipeline project, covering engineering, procurement and installation of the offshore pipeline, connecting the Coastal Connecting Platform to the onshore terminal in Dos Bocas and the necessary modifications to the existing facilities.

The project execution will be carried out entirely in Mexico and will use one of Swiber’s pipelay barges and the project will be supported from Dragados Offshore’s yard near the city of Tampico and the logistics base in Ciudad del Carmen.

This is the first time that Dragados Offhore will perform an offshore pipeline project and the first time that Swiber will execute a project in the Gulf of Mexico, and therefore an exciting start for the joint venture to initiate these kinds of projects in the Gulf of Mexico.

With this new contract, Dragados Offshore and Swiber consolidate their leaderships in design, fabrication and commissioning of offshore projects for the oil and gas industry and foresee a bright future ahead for expansion and diversification of their business.
