Dräger Safety UK scoops new North Sea contracts

Dräger Safety UK has secured new contracts after diversifying into new technology and training service areas focused on upstream and downstream operations in the North Sea.

Dräger said that the contracts were worth more than £3 million. The company said it won several high-profile contract awards from operators and oilfield service providers in late 2017, and early this year. It did not reveal the identity of the clients.

The company added that it developed a new portable, networked gas detection and alarm system designed to protect people working in any location offshore.

Alex Duthie, Dräger Safety UK’s sales and marketing director, said: “There are real signs that the upturn the industry has been anticipating is materializing, with investment in training and new technology coming forward across the basin.

“We increased our rental portfolio to enable us to provide support for a diverse range of operations, locally and internationally, providing equipment and, if needed, the support of our highly-trained personnel for on- and offshore projects.”
