Duke Offshore finds work for patrol/crew boat in India

Duke Offshore Ltd has secured a long-term contract for its new high-speed patrol and crew boat, the Duke Sprint.

Duke Offshore said in a Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) filing on Thursday that the contract will see the Duke Sprint on a full charter for a ‘major multinational oil and gas company operating in India’.

The company did not disclose any more details about its client nor any financial terms regarding the deal. However, Duke did say that the project would start with immediate effect.

The company added the vessel to its offshore oil field support fleet back in July. The Duke Sprint, built in Singapore and now under the Indian flag, was supposed to have arrived in India in the first week of August 2016.

Commercial terms of the vessel sale, as well as the seller, were not revealed.

Duke Sprint has 26 meters length overall and a beam of 7 meters. The gross tonnage of the vessel is 115 tons. According to last available AIS data, the vessel was located in Mumbai port in India on Wednesday morning.
