Duo in offshore survey & inspection pact

Singapore-based M3 Marine Group and Indonesia’s PT ROV Inspeksi have transformed years of collaboration into a new company offshore named M3 Marine Remote Inspections, working in the offshore surveying and inspection arena.

M3 said last week that the new company would offer remote aerial, underwater, confined space survey, and inspection services for both onshore and offshore marine projects and assets.

The company will use drones and mini ROVs to go where workers cannot, either in the air, under water, or into narrow spaces.

According to the company, such work eradicates significant risk and the need for expensive scaffolding, rope access work, over side work, working at heights, underwater, and inaccessible confined spaces.

M3 added that the essential inspections for hard to reach areas, such as flare booms, double bottoms, storage tanks, and under deck areas, can be completed in a fraction of the time of traditional access methods with significant cost savings and without safety risks.

The applications of such inspections provided by the company can be used by ship owners, shipyards, ship management companies, and classification societies.

Mike Meade, M3 CEO, says: “We believe in helping our clients get ahead of the game by supporting them in their quest to meet the triple demands of marine businesses today – safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

“It is important that in times like this that we keep our minds open to opportunities for further cost savings and safer practices. Partnering with ROV Inspeksi who have a credible track record in the sector makes sound business sense for both of us.”
