Duo in subsea digitalization pact

i-Tech Services, a Subsea 7 company, and engineering company Leidos have signed a five-year digitalization partnership agreement.

i-Tech said on Wednesday that the partnership would increase efficiencies in the company’s life of field capabilities by providing clients with greater insights into operations through the field lifecycle.

According to the company, this agreement will leverage Leidos’s multi-sector expertise in digitalization and enable i-Tech Services to automate manual processes, reduce operating costs, and utilize innovative technologies and capabilities.

Steve Wisely, senior vice president of i-Tech Services, said: “We look forward to collaborating with Leidos to deliver a technology development plan that utilizes big data, digitalization and artificial intelligence to allow clients to harvest greater insight for early decision making ensuring focused and cost-effective management of the field by reducing opex.

“The partnership has already identified and initiated the first two development phases, which will see a focus on data acquisition, processing, analytical insight, and data visualization of i-Tech Services’ integrity, inspection, and survey services.”

Neil Walton, VP and managing director of civil, defence, and health at Leidos UK, added: “The oil and gas sector is under significant pressure to optimize production and deliver services as efficiently as possible, and this is a clear example of how Leidos can help transform performance by releasing the value held in data to deliver improved insight for i-Tech Services.”
