Up to six contractors will collect information which will be used for detailed design of wind turbine and potentially substation foundations.

Wind farms included in the design work are the 498MW Fecamp project, which will comprise 83 turbines featuring gravity base foundations, the 450MW Courseulles sur Mer and the 480MW Saint Nazaire projects, which will be developed with monopole foundations. The latter wind farms will consist of 75 and 80 wind turbines.

Boreholes and downhole testing will be conducted at up to two thirds of wind turbine locations.

As Alstom is a member of the consortium, it will supply its 6 MW turbines to all three wind farms.
