Eidesvik enters PSV deal with Statoil

Norwegian shipping company Eidesvik Offshore has been awarded a contract for a platform supply vessel (PSV) from its compatriot, oil company, Statoil.

Eidesvik said on Thursday in its Oslo Stock Exchange filing that a six-month contract was awarded to the supply vessel Viking Prince.

The shipping company did not reveal the value of the deal with Statoil but only stated that terms are in accordance with current market conditions.

The contract is scheduled to start at the end of August 2016.

Viking Prince is a PSV of a VS489 design built by Kleven Verft. The LNG-powered vessel was named in Aalesund, Norway, in March 2012.
