Eidesvik Finds Work for Viking Poseidon in Wind Sector

Norwegian vessel owner Eidesvik has secured another contract from Siemens Wind Power for the offshore construction vessel Viking Poseidon to support its operations in the German offshore wind sector.

The contract, scheduled to start in June this year, is the second contract the company has been awarded in this sector, following the award for Acergy Viking in February this year.

“We are very pleased that Siemens, for the second time, awards us a contract in this interesting market”, says president & CEO Jan Fredrik Meling.

The 130 meters long Viking Poseidon has been in lay-up since the previous charterer Harkand went into administration and its administrator terminated the deal in May.

The new contract is estimated to last 3-5 months including options.

The company did not disclose the commercial terms between the parties.
