Eidesvik: OCV Viking Neptun to work on Tullow’s TEN

Eidesvik Offshore ASA, through the Ghanaian entity Eidesvik Ghana Limited, and Technip have entered into a charter agreement for the Offshore Construction Vessel MV Viking Neptun for work on the ‘TEN URF Development Project’ offshore Ghana.

According to Eidsvik, the firm contract period is 50 days plus mobilization period with an option for charterers to further extend the scope of work with 50 days. The work is expected to begin in Q4-2015.

The end-user is Tullow Ghana Limited who is the operator and part-owner of the TEN field in Ghana.

In addition, Reach Subsea will perform the ROV services under this agreement, as part of the 3-year contract with Eidesvik Offshore, signed in October 2014. In November 2014, Reach and Eidesvik were together hired by Technip for theĀ supply of Viking Neptun.

Jan Fredrik Meling, CEO of Eidesvik Offshore ASA, said: “The Vessel has been operating for Technip since she was delivered from the yard and we are very pleased to continue the good relation and cooperation between the Technip and Eidesvik teams onboard the vessel and onshore.”

MV ‘Viking Neptun’ is an Offshore Construction Vessel built in Norway and delivered to Eidesvik in February 2015. The vessel is 145 meters long and 31 meters wide and equipped with a 400 tons crane. The vessel accommodates up to 150 persons.

Reach Subsea CEO Jostein Alendal said: “We are pleased to see that the work performed by Reach Subsea and Eidesvik Offshore for Technip so far this year has positioned the MV Viking Neptun for additional work through the upcoming winter season, thereby securing continued good utilisation of our ROV Resources.”
