The contract includes options for extension, Eidesvik said in its statement.

Viking Energy is the world’s first LNG-fueled PSV, with an overall length of 94.9 meters and breadth of 20.4 meters. It features dual-fuel engines, so it is able to run on both LNG and marine diesel oil in any proportion. The LNG tank is capable of holding 220 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.

Eidesvik Offshore said in its statement the new contract will commence in direct continuation of the current contract ending April 2020. Currently, the vessel supplies materials to Equinor’s North Sea platforms.
