EMA looking for new LNG importers to Singapore

The Energy Market Authority (EMA) has launched a request-for-proposal (RFP) to appoint up to two LNG importers to supply Singapore beyond its first 3 Mtpa from BG.

The RFP will be conducted in two stages. Stage One of the RFP is now open, the EMA said in a statement.

“Interested parties to import LNG are invited to submit proposals for this incremental LNG supply. They will be evaluated based on the competitiveness of their gas supply proposals and their ability to provide a reliable and secure gas supply to Singapore,” the statement said.

Proposals are to be submitted by 31 December 2014. EMA will evaluate the proposals and shortlist up to three parties to participate in Stage Two of the RFP.
