Enarsa bags nine LNG cargoes for June-August delivery

Argentinian state-owned Enarsa has booked nine liquefied natural gas cargoes for delivery between June and August through a tender.

The company initially cancelled the tender in April due to higher than expected prices that ranged around US$5/mmBtu.

However, as Platts reports, the company has bought five cargoes for delivery to the Bahia Blanca terminal located some 400 miles south of Buenos Aires with a baseload regasification capacity of 500 mmscf/d.

BP has booked the only June slot while Shell and Vitol have been awarded the remaining slots for July and August delivery, the report said.

Shell has also grabbed two slots for delivery to the 500 mmscf/d GNL Escobar terminal located on the Parana River, some 30 miles outside Buenos Aires. The two remaining cargoes will be delivered by Gas Natural Fenosa.

Enarsa secured the Bahia Blanca cargoes at prices ranging at around $4.6/mmBtu while cargoes for delivery to the GNL Escobar were priced at around $4.8/mmBtu, according to the report.
