Enauta charters Solstad Offshore’s AHTS for Atlanta field
Brazilian oil company Enauta – formerly known as QGEP – has awarded a new contract to Solstad Offshore’s AHTS vessel BOS Turmalina.
Solstad Offshore said Tuesday the 2006-built anchor handler would go on a 1,5-year contract with Enauta during the fourth quarter of the year in direct continuation with the current charter.
According to Solstad Offshore, the vessel BOS Turmalina will keep supporting production activities at the Atlanta field in Santos Basin.
Located in Block BS-4, in the Santos Basin, Atlanta is a post-salt oil field situated 185 kilometers from the city of Rio de Janeiro, in water depths of approximately 1,500 meters. First oil from the field started flowing on May 2, 2018.
According to Enauta’s recent quarterly report, since mid-September, the Atlanta field’s average production has remained stable at around 30,000 barrels of oil per day, which is the current FPSO’s maximum processing capacity.
The company is considering the implementation of the Full Development System (FDS), via an FPSO with capacity of 50-70 thousand barrels of oil per day and drilling of up to 9 additional wells.
The FDS will be implemented in phases, initially drilling 5 wells by the end of 2022, when production is expected to start, and then add 4 more wells.. The total investment is planned between US$1 billion and US$1.5 billion.
