Singapore-based owner and operator of pressurized gas carriers Epic Gas has opted to further expand its fleet as it entered into an agreement to buy a 7,500 cbm liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier.

Although the company did not disclose the name of the vessel or its previous owner, Epic Gas said that the ship in question was built in 2009 at Japan’s shipyard Murakami Hide Shipbuilding.

The shipping firm added that the second-hand carrier is scheduled to join its fleet by the end of June 2017.

This acquisition brings Epic Gas’ total fleet to 42 vessels, ranging from 3,000 cbm to 11,000 cbm, which serve the international supply chains of oil majors and commodity traders throughout Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
