European Marine Energy Centre looks to fill two positions

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) is looking for a performance test engineer.

The position aims to deliver EMEC’s services into collaborative R&D projects, focussed on marine energy device testing and performance assessment.

The engineer should have well-developed critical, numerical and analytical skills / using statistics in data analysis, the ability to write well for a variety of audiences and have experience of project management and working in teams.

Past experience in delivery testing or certification products / reports is desirable but not essential.

This is a full-time post for a fixed-term of 2 years.

Location negotiable, but the post holder will be expected to spend periods of time in Orkney.

Also, EMEC is in need of an environment & consents officer.

The position will support the acquisition, maintenance and streamlining of all statutory consents required at EMEC or other identified sites.

The environment & consents officer needs to have knowledge of environmental legislation, particularly in Scotland.

The position also requires experience of report-writing and knowledge of the challenges of working in the marine environment.

Based in Orkney, this full-time post is to cover maternity leave and will terminate when the post holder returns to work.
