Eurotankers Buys Second-Hand VLCC from MOL

Greek shipping company Eurotankers has expanded its fleet of Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) with a 2003-built tanker purchased from Japan’s shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd (MOL).

According to data provided by VesselsValue, the second-hand vessel Kaminesan was bought for a price of USD 28.3 million, below the tanker’s market value of USD 30.3 million.

Featuring a length of 332 meters and a width of 60 meters, the ship has a deadweight of 303,900 tons.

The vessel, which was built by a Japanese shipyard, is currently moored in the Persian Gulf, according to the latest AIS data provided by Marine Traffic.

Eurotankers has a fleet of eight Post-panamax, Suezmax, LR2, and Aframax tankers and three Handysize bulk carriers, with a total capacity of over 900,000 dwt.
