Danish shipping company, Evergas, named the seventh LNG-fueled “Dragon” class carrier at Sunoco’s terminal in Marcus Hook by Philadelphia.

The 27,500-cbm carrier capable of transporting ethane, a wide range of petrochemical gasses, LPG and LNG, was named JS Ineos Independence, the company said in its statement.

The vessel will transport ethane from the United States Mariner East project to Europe under a 15-year shipping deal Evergas signed with Ineos in 2013.

It is the seventh carrier in a series of eight to be delivered to Evergas. The vessels, 80 meters long and 26.6 meters wide, will mainly use liquefied natural gas as fuel.
