Exmar to Order VLGC Duo for Statoil Deal

Belgium’s vessel owner and operator Exmar is to order two LPG carriers to support an agreement reached with Norwegian oil major Statoil.

Under the deal between the parties, Exmar’s environment-friendly newbuildings would be deployed to transport LPG in a sustainable manner basis a long-term commitment.

Featuring 79,500 cbm, the gas carriers are to be delivered within 2020 and “will be compliant with the most stringent NOx and SOx emission regulations,” Exmar said.

“The above re-establishes Exmar’s presence into the very large gas carrier (VLGC) segment and reflects the company’s dedicated efforts to support industrial partners with innovative shipping solutions,” the company concluded.
