Exxon Mobil Schedules Management Changes for March 1

Exxon Mobil, the largest publicly traded international oil and gas company,  announced yesterday that its board of directors is expected to appoint T.R. (Tom) Walters as president of ExxonMobil Production Company and R.S. (Rob) Franklin as president of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Company, effective March 1.

Walters, currently president of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Company and a vice president of the corporation, succeeds R.M. (Rich) Kruger, who was appointed by the board of directors of Imperial Oil Limited as chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Walters joined Exxon USA in 1978 in Los Angeles and has held a variety of technical and managerial positions in production, operations, development and global services. In 1999, he was appointed vice president for Africa for ExxonMobil Development Company and in 2002, vice president, United States, for ExxonMobil Production Company. He was appointed president, ExxonMobil Global Services Company in 2005 prior to becoming executive vice president of ExxonMobil Development Company in 2007. He was appointed president of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Company in 2009.

Walters was born in Hammond, IN, and is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and from Texas A&M University with a master’s degree in ocean engineering.

Franklin, currently president of ExxonMobil Upstream Ventures and a vice president of the corporation, joined Mobil North Sea Ltd. in 1981 in Aberdeen, Scotland, and has held a variety of technical and managerial positions in exploration and production and gas marketing. In 1999, he was appointed vice president for European gas marketing for Mobil Corporation, and in 2001 was named vice president of new business development for ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Company in Houston, Texas.

He was appointed executive assistant to the chairman of Exxon Mobil Corporation in 2007 and in 2008 was named vice president for Europe, Russia and Caspian for ExxonMobil Production Company. He was appointed president of ExxonMobil Upstream Ventures in 2009.

Franklin was born in Culcheth, England, and is a graduate of Leeds University, West Yorkshire, England, with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
