The company said on Monday that the decision has been made following the success of a freshly closed open season process.

“During the binding window of the Open Season, the full 6 million tonnes per year (or c.10.5 GWh/h) capacity on offer has been subscribed,” the company said in its statement.

Fluxys further noted that as of early 2024, a total of 4.7 million tonnes per year (8.2 GWh/h) of additional regasification capacity will be made available.

As of 2026, the full 6 million tonnes per year (10.5 GWh/h) of additional capacity will be made available.

Currently, the facility has a total regasification capacity of 9 billion cubic meters of natural gas, or 472 GWH/day.
