The first building block of the Ryndam, as the ship is named, is 14 meters long and weighs more than 500 tons.

It is the central section of the ship that is scheduled for delivery in 2021.

A steel cutting for Ryndam, signifying the official beginning of the building process, was held March 13, 2019.

Like sister ships Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam, the Ryndam will be about 99,800 gross tons, almost 300 meters long, with accommodation for 2,668 passengers on board in 1,340 cabins.

The shipbuilder said the ship’s technology was aimed at optimizing energy efficiency and minimizing environmental impact.
