Vyborg Shipyard Workers Start On-Site Training at Arctech Helsinki

Employees of Vyborg shipyard have started on-site training at Arctech Helsinki Shipyard VSY workers are mastering professional skills in construction of icebreaking platform supply vessels in Helsinki. As explained by the group leader Vladimir Kulagin, the workers are experienced shipbuilders, and some of them had been already trained at Helsinki shipyard in the early 2000’s.

At that time they took part in the project of construction of cruise ships. “Many workers are already familiar with the working practices at Arctech Helsinki Shipyard that is contributing significantly to the qualification upgrading process. The group is including both welders and fitters who will be involved in outfitting works for multi-purpose icebreaking platform supply vessels NBs 506 and 507 within the scope of on-site training”.

On-site training is a part of joint activities of Helsinki shipyard and United Shipbuilding Corporation. The purpose of training is development of cooperation between the Finnish and Russian shipyards.

It is planned that Vyborg shipbuilders will be staying in Helsinki till 31st March 2013.
