First Mexican order for Sinopacific

China’s Sinopacific Shipbuilding has received its first order from Mexico.

The Chinese company has announced that Naviera Petrolera Integral, a Mexican shipping company, has placed an order for three offshore support vessels of Sinopacific’s SPP17A design.

The SPPA17A is a platform supply vessel design developed in-house by Sinopacific. It has  an overall length of 61.8m, moulded breadth of 14.0m, moulded depth of 5.8m, deadweight of 1,700mt, design draft of 4.3m, and accommodation for 24 persons.

The vessels will be built in Sinopacific’s Zhejiang Shipyard and are expected to be delivered before the end of 2015. Following delivery, the new vessels will be employed by PEMEX, Mexico’s largest oil company, in their oil and gas development projects in the Gulf of Mexico. Financial details of the order were not disclosed.

The China-based builder of offshore support vessels is in a contract winning spree. The company last week announced it had received contracts for new vessels in China and Singapore.
