Flex LNG noted that the Hull no 8012, to be named Flex Volunteer, is the company’s third out of four LNG carriers under construction fitted with low-pressure slow-speed two-stroke engine (XDF).

Once fitted and mobilized, Flex LNG expects the vessel to commence service towards end of 2020.

Flex Volunteer will then be its 12th ship on water and will be joined by its sister ship Flex Vigiliant in 2021 bringing the number of ships in operation to 13.

Earlier this month, Flex LNG launched its Flex Freedom newbuild at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in Geoje, South Korea. The vessel is expected to be available in the market in the third quarter of 2020.
