Flexlife Wins Award for Significant Contribution to Subsea Pipeline Technology (UK)

Subsea specialist flexlife has been named as winner of the Pipeline Industries Guild award for Significant Contribution to Subsea Pipeline Technology at the 54th National Dinner held in London this week.

The award recognises the advances made by flexlife’s ultrasonic scanning technology and the work done on the subsequent spin-off product flexGuard. This new product incorporates this scanning technology in the form of a collar that can be permanently fitted to flexibles.

flexGuard will offer a global view of all riser assets giving an ongoing status of the flexible pipe annulus and armour wire condition. This will act as a fail safe early warning system providing major cost and safety benefits to operators.

Stuart Mitchell, CEO at flexlife, said: “When we started the company our aim was to provide solutions to the most common subsea problems. Winning the award for the Contribution to Subsea Pipeline Technology is testament to the determination and passion of the team who have worked so hard to help achieve this goal.”

We are delighted to have received this award and are very proud to be given such recognition, especially considering the amount of innovative work currently being done in the oil & gas industry.
