Forties Pipeline Shutdown Impacts Nearby Fields

Chevron North Sea, the operator of the Erskine field, has informed that the Forties Pipeline System (FPS), the export route for Erskinee condensate, will be unavailable due to repairs.

The owner of the FPS, Ineos, is conducting repairs to a hairline crack in the onshore section of the pipeline. The repair is expected to last potentially for some weeks.

According to Serica Energy, who holds 18 percent interest in Erskine field, during this period the Erskine, along with other fields that use the pipeline, which include the BKR Assets, will be unable to produce.

This will impact Serica’s production guidance for the year to December 31, 2017, which has been revised to approximately 2,000 boe per day net to Serica from the Erskine field, the company said.
