FESCO Icebreaker to Guide Ships in the Arctic

Admiral Makarov, an icebreaker owned by Russian shipping line FESCO, is to provide pilotage of vessels with containers, general and national economic cargo to the ports and port-points of Chukotka and the Northern Sea Route (NSR) in the eastern sector of the Arctic Region. 

The 7,560 dwt icebreaker left the home port of Vladivostok on July 8 and is currently on its way to the waters of the NSR.

The 1975-built vessel is expected to arrive at its destination on July 16, where it will start piloting the vessels.

Admiral Makarov features 14,058 gross tons, a length of 134.83 meters and a breadth of 26.07 meters.
